Calvinism Vs Arminianism

I'm listening to this debate on youtube. The Calvinist guy doesn't really present his biblical evidence that well.
The facilitator is not neutral, but biased toward the arminian view. The debate between Calvinism and Arminianism has been going on for centuries- there are loads of scriptures to support both points of view (exegetically). Both sides require that one place their faith in Jesus Christ for salvation- and that's the most important part. I was raised in a more arminian viewpoint (being a pentecostal and all). But there are definitely some sides of calvinism that line up with scripture as well.
I think this is a secondary debate and that a person can come down on either side and still be safe within orthodoxy of the christian faith.

Can someone help me! If calvinist believe in Elect few or Christ die only for certain people how would they know he died for them???Doesnt the bible cleary state John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting

..just letting the word interpret itself (exegesis) is so much easier than trying to figure it all out through the lens of a finite human mind...lol.
