I first want to clarify what I am talking about regarding doctrine. The definition I am operating from is “a principle or body of principles presented for acceptance or belief.”
I know that Jesus had a doctrine. I ask this question because I am not sure if we ever ask ourselves this question and God keeps speaking to my spirit around this. They say that 75% of Americans are Christians, so why so much ugly behavior. Maybe we have lost our perspective, maybe we forgot that Jesus came that we may have life more abundantly, and he died to fulfill the sacrificial law, gave back to the world that which was taken in the garden, the tree of Life. (Gen 3:22)
We can keep saying that we are sinners and incapable of being like Jesus. We insist that we believe the Bible, it is God’s Word. Then why do we not believe “For God so LOVED the WORLD he sent his only begotten son. “ (John 3:16-17) That is in the Bible God must believe that we are worthy, valuable and capable.
What was this doctrine that had church people upset (Pharisees, Sadducees, teachers of the law), while thousands followed to hear the astonishing new doctrine? He healed lives with a touch, a word, or speech. Jesus had a doctrine, he said, “My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.”(John 7:16).
Christ doctrine was simple. He said, “Two commandments sum up ALL the Law and prophets. The first commandment was to” love God with our heart, soul and mind.” The second commandment was like the first,” love your neighbor like yourself”. My, question is “is this too simple for us, must we make everything complicated?” We talk about blood, death and resurrection. Christ talked about love, life and redemption. He did this in stories, parables and edits. His last commandment to his disciples was a new commandment “love ye one another.” We would rather tell one another “I blessed”.
WHEN YOU KNOW YOUR BLESSED YOU WILL BE A BLESSING!
Christ taught action BE light, DO love, and HAVE peace. His message(teachings) was what he told his disciples to teach. (Matt 28:20) So again, what is the doctrine of Christ?
Jesus believed that we could be all that God called us to be because before he gave up his life for a friend (US). In John 14:12 Jesus Christ said “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” So my question is “is this a lie”? When Jesus believed he acted on what he believed. When we believe on him, we will follow his teachings.
So my question is “is Christian Doctrine, Christ Doctrine”?
If you want to know Christ Doctrine read Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Christ promised that Holy Spirit would teach, and remind us of what Jesus said. Read the Gospels and let me know what you think.Tags:
